The trend comes from a 2024 video filmed at night at a gas station during a road trip: one person dances happily next to the car, a second films on a phone and laughs, and a third gets out of the car and joins in while someone shouts "Delai!" (Russian for "Do it!"). The clip became a meme in Russia, and in autumn 2026 it turned into an AI template where people swap in themselves and their friends, as several guides on Sostav described in September 2026. The song is "Stay with Me", also known as "On and On (When the Lights Go Down)", by the Romanian group Akcent. The appeal is not the dance itself, which is simple and happy, but the swap: the scene stays exactly the same while three new people appear in it. That makes it a group-chat favorite for friends, roommates and coworkers. On AI Dance, this template recasts the people from your photo into the original scene instead of animating your own background, like our Hotel Lobby template. That takes much more computing, so it costs 8 credits per video. ### The moves A casual, happy scene rather than a choreography: a small bounce and a hand gesture, a big smile and a little jump with both arms up, a cut to the friend filming, and a third friend stepping out of the car with a shoulder shimmy. ## How to make the Gas Station Dance video 1. **Add your photo.** Upload one photo of two people, side by side in one photo. Both bodies visible, both faces sharp. 2. **Tap Make my video.** The Gas Station Dance dance costs 8 credits. The AI copies the moves onto your photo while you wait, about a few minutes. 3. **Download and post.** You get a 18 second 9:16 MP4. Post it on TikTok, Reels or Shorts and add the sound inside the app. ## Best photo for Gas Station Dance - Use one photo with up to three people, side by side, all fully visible. - Every face should be sharp and turned toward the camera. - Leave a little space between people so each one is easy to recast. - Good light on all faces matters more than the background, which is replaced by the gas station scene. - Use photos of yourself and people who agreed to be in the video. Avoid: - More than two people in the photo - One person hidden behind the other - Faces turned away or in deep shadow - Blurry or very dark photos ## Post it on TikTok, Reels or Shorts - Your video comes without music. Search "Stay with Me" by Akcent in TikTok or Reels; it is the sound of the original clip. - Tag every friend in the video. Group posts travel through each person's followers. - Make one for each group of friends: school, work, family. Caption idea: Road trip energy.
